ENTERTAINMENT ASSISTANCE
Provide support to Entertainment Coordinator as needed. May include working back stage, assisting entertainers, running errands, curtain call, spot light operator, and/or special effects team.
SAFETY AMBASSADORS
Monitor event activity and safety. May involve enforcing street closures or walking around the event to watch for safety hazards or concerns. Will include giving directions and guiding foot traffic .
ADMISSIONS/DOOR
Collect donations for admission to events. May include selling water or bracelets.
BEVERAGE SERVER
Serve drinks to people in exchange for beverage tickets.
STONEWALL BOOTH
Festival position only. Answer questions about Stonewall Alliance Center, PRIDE and the GSM community in Chico and surrounding areas. Responsible for checking in volunteers and monitoring supply of refreshments available for volunteers. May include selling t-shirts or other merchandise.
VENDOR CHECK IN
Festival position only. Work with Festival Coordinator to communicate with vendors during check-in. Will be responsible for directing vendors to their assigned site and answering their questions. May need to assist with additional tasks related to vendor set-up. This is an early morning position, so expect to be there by 7:30 a.m. on Saturday.
EVENT SET UP
Each event requires extra hands for setting up tables/chairs/decorations and more. This is generally a shorter, more intense role, so expect to be on your feet and following instructions throughout the shift.
EVENT CLEAN UP
Thoroughly cleaning up after each event is essential for using these venues for future Stonewall Chico PRIDE events. This is generally a shorter, more intense role. Expect to be busy following instructions throughout the shift.
ORGANIZATION & PREP
There are many ways to help out in the weeks leading up to Pride! Would you like to help plan events or activities? Would you like to help make buttons for PRIDE? Would you like to help organize Pride materials and supplies in the office? Let us know your preferences!
Volunteer Benefits
Volunteering for Stonewall Chico PRIDE Weekend is a great opportunity to give back to your community. Not only will you have that feeling of community involvement and accomplishment, but there are also benefits that come along with your time and hard work!
If you volunteer for any shift that is during an event that has a cover charge, you are given FREE entry. We don't want our volunteers to have to pay in order to help out.
1 Shift: If you volunteer for 1 three-hour shift, you are given a FREE volunteer t-shirt.
2 Shifts: If you volunteer for 2 three-hour shifts, you will receive a FREE volunteer t-shirt, and FREE entry into one of our evening events. If you are under the age of 18, we have something specifically for you since you will be getting into the Teen Dance for FREE anyway!
3 Shifts: If you volunteer for 3 or more three-hour shifts, you will receive a FREE volunteer t-shirt, FREE entry into 2 evening events (or you and and a friend can both attend 1 event for free), and two FREE drinks at the evening events. If you are under the age of 18, we have something specifically for you since you will be getting into the Teen Dance for FREE anyway!
