ACCESSIBILITY information

Stonewall is aware that our community is beautifully diverse, in many ways. All bodies, backgrounds and abilities are welcome at our events, and we strive to make Chico Pride as accessible as possible. Here are some ways in which we focus this effort:

  • All Stonewall Chico Pride events take place in venues which are wheelchair accessible.

  • All Stonewall Chico Pride events have all-gender restrooms. ADA compliant handicapped- accessible port-o-potties are present at the Downtown Festival and handicap-accessible restroom stalls at The Showcase, Community Kickback, Dance Night, Teen Dance and QTPOC Pride Night.

  • ASL (sign language) interpreters are present and sign onstage at our Downtown Festival and our Showcase events.

  • Shaded seating is available for elderly and disabled guests at our Downtown Festival, Community Kickback, Dance Night, QTPOC Pride Night and Teen Dance events. Seats are available to reserve at our Showcase event.

  • Water fill stations and cooling (misting) fans are present at our Downtown Festival, and outdoors at the Showcase and Dance Night events.

  • Our QTPOC Pride Night and Teen Dance events are completely free. Our Downtown Festival, Community Kickback and Dance Night events have suggested donations requested at the door, but no one is turned away if they cannot pay.

Have a need you don't see accommodation for?  We will try, to the best of our ability (and budget) to help. Let us know by clicking the button!

Have kids?

Chico Childcare Collective is planning to be present at our Downtown Festival to provide supervision, activities, snacks and a safe space for children as young as 3 years old. Parents or guardians are welcome to join them as well. So that the collective can plan for what the community needs, please drop them a line if you plan to use the childcare. Include how many children you will be bringing, their ages, and whether they have any dietary restrictions, special needs or other concerns. This way, the collective can answer your questions, be prepared, and let you know if they have the capacity to provide accommodation for your child.
